Climate Change Dinner — Responsible Research and Innovation (Dec 2016)

Producer - Experiential Dinner Party Examining Climate Change

The meal was curated around the theme of climate change in 2016 – the cold hard facts, the rise of pseudoscience in current political climates, and the responsibility of science and the media; the precarious futures of our pollinators and fish stocks; the need to rethink where we source our food from; 20 years on from GMOs yet public fears about scientific progress seem stronger than ever; and finally, how we can react as a society to the local poverty and homelessness crisis — can we encourage more to share when we have too much? The project aimed to bring together different sectors of society to discuss these areas, to think laterally about solutions and alternative methods for opening up a meaningful dialogue between various societal sectors.

“The professionalism and high standard of the event left me highly impressed with the creativity which was so obviously applied in tackling a subject as enormous as climate change.  I was in charge of Events in ESB and subsequently in An Post and understand the logistics involved in creating a successful experience”. — Barney Whelan
